SUBMIT A NEWSLETTER
Help Preserve Newsletter Journalism
Wayback.org.uk grows through community contribution. Journalists, publishers, and engaged readers all play a vital role in identifying newsletters that deserve preservation before they are lost.
If you publish a newsletter, or if you know of one that should be part of the archive, we encourage you to submit it for consideration.
Who Can Submit
Submissions are welcome from:
- Journalists and writers who publish their own newsletters
- Newsletter publishers and independent media operators
- Editors and media organisations with newsletter programmes
- Researchers and academics studying journalism
- Readers who value a newsletter they subscribe to
You do not need to be the author or publisher of a newsletter to recommend it. If you read a newsletter that you believe deserves to be preserved, you can submit it on its behalf.
Submission Requirements
To submit a newsletter, we ask for the following basic information:
- The newsletter’s title
- The name of the author or publisher
- A brief description of the newsletter’s focus and editorial approach
- A link to the newsletter’s subscription page or public archive (if one exists)
- The frequency of publication and, where known, the date of the first issue
This information enables our editorial team to assess the submission and, if accepted, to categorise it accurately within the archive.
Editorial Review
Every submission is reviewed against our archival criteria.
Wayback.org.uk focuses specifically on journalism newsletters: publications that provide reporting, analysis, commentary, or curation on subjects of journalistic relevance. We include newsletters that cover public affairs, politics, technology, the media industry, economics, science, culture, and specialist professional fields.
We do not currently archive newsletters primarily focused on marketing, personal lifestyle content, or commercial promotional material. Our focus is on newsletters that contribute to the public record of journalism and public affairs.
If you are uncertain whether a newsletter meets our criteria, please submit it — our team will assess it and respond within five working days.
Copyright and Attribution
Wayback.org.uk respects the intellectual property rights of all newsletter authors and publishers in accordance with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
In most cases, the archive indexes newsletters and links to their original source rather than hosting complete copies of their content. Where content is preserved more fully, this is done with appropriate care for copyright and, where possible, in consultation with the original publisher.
If a publisher does not wish their newsletter to be included in the archive, we honour removal requests promptly. Publishers who submit their own newsletters for archiving are taken to have provided consent for their inclusion.
